Modern Tibetan Monks ...

There's a 40 year old Tibetan monk sitting next to me. He's not meditating, not praying, not chanting. If it weren't for his robes, I wouldn't be able to tell him apart from everyone else in this Internet cafe. His face is about a foot from the computer screen, his eyes intently focused on episodes of Naruto that he's been watching for the past hour.

I am not an expert of Tibetan Buddhism, and my stereotypes of Tibetan monks are probably very backwards - but who would have thought that monks spend hours on end at an Internet cafe watching anime. Hmm ... he's actually watching some other Chinese movie now, so maybe this is some sort of video marathon he's putting himself through.
More serious thoughts on Tibetan Buddhism later ... must make it back home alive first.
