songs of narnia
A couple scenes from this weekend's youth retreat where I was a small group leader:
me: hey, so what did you guys learn at the workshops this afternoon?
kids: tons of stuff
me: which workshops did you go to?
kid: the songs of solomon one
me: what did you get out of that?
kid1: well, the language was kinda weird, but it's good to know the historical basis for it
kid2: yea, there's this one part with the fauns
kid1: yup - fauns: half human, half donkey
me: what?
kid1: you know, like Mr. Tumnus - half human, half donkey
me: ... ... ...
(15 minutes later - walking to dinner)
kid3: yo, you know that part about the horse woman?
kid4: yea, it's kinda weird that she looks like a horse
me: ehh ... you know she doesn't really look like a horse, right?
